Why Go Green

In conjunction with Santee Cooper, the state-owned utility that is our source of power, Palmetto Electric is concerned about preserving our environment through safe and reliable energy sources. Our customers can impact the environment in a positive way for just two dimes a day which is equal to the purchase of 2 blocks of Green Power a month at just $6.

Green Power is sold to our residential customers in 100 kilowatt-hour blocks (about 10 percent of a typical household's monthly energy use). Purchasing 2 blocks per month has the same environmental impact as recycling 320 pounds of aluminum.

Participation Levels

Each block of 100 kiloWatt hours will add an extra $3 to your monthly electric bill. You may sign-up for as many blocks as you would like.

$3 per month for 1 Block (100kwh),
$6 per month for 2 Blocks (200kwh),
$9 per month for 3 Blocks (300kwh)

Sign-Up

ALL revenues from every block of Green Power you buy will be reinvested into future developments of additional renewable resources or Green Power facilities.
