Safety & Outages
|
Electricity is a powerful force in all our lives. It makes so many things
possible and is so ever present in our homes, at work and at play, we often
take it for granted. But because it is so powerful, it's important that
we always exercise caution when using it.
- Stay away from PECI equipment, which includes poles, guy wires, substations,
underground transformers, and trucks working on lines.
- Stay away and keep others away from fallen power lines (including telephone and
cable TV lines). Call PECI immediately if you see downed lines.
- Keep all objects away from power lines. Ladders, antennas, and kites can be fatal
when they contact a "hot" power line.
- Plant trees away from overhead power lines and underground transformers.
